Vancouver’s Western Region
As a West Vancouver realtor, we can tell you thatthe 1,823 meter bridge takes traffic straight to the border of West Vancouver real estate and North Vancouver real estate (near Arbutus real estate area) and onto Marine Drive , West Vancouver real estate area’s main commercial strip that runs along the Burrard Inlet and continues all the way to Horseshoe Bay, a water-front ferry community located at the westernmost point of West Vancouver. Ferries to Bowen Island, Nanaimo and Langdale leave from Horseshoe Bay. The Trans Canada Highway, also known as Highway 1, ends here and Highway 99 can be taken from here to head north toward Whistler, B.C.
West Vancouver real estate is mostly homes and not too many West Vancouver condos , as the Municipality makes sure to maintain the area as a laid back and quiet upscale community. Canada’s first and West Vancouver’s only mall, Park Royal Shopping Centre, is actually right next to the Lion’s Gate Bridge. Park Royal is the North Shore’s largest shopping destination with over 280 stores and restaurants. There is actually 2 malls across the street from each other. The bus stops on either side of the street is a main transfer point for those going west, east to West Vancouver real estate area, or south to Downtown. In the past few years the Village at Park Royal was built, a popular outdoor shopping venue located next to the South Mall, with top name shops and cafes, including Whole Foods and Starbucks.
One of the most common gathering clusters in the North Shore area is Ambleside Beach. From the park, you might see resplendent views of Downtown Vancouver, Stanley Park, and the Lions Gate Bridge, which are all family friendly aspects of this area. Ableside becomes a popular beach location in the summer, but at the other times of the year you may have a lovely date there, take your kids to play, or a relaxing walk with your dog. Being more of a historic nature stop is the Lighthouse Park which is near to the western end of West Vancouver. At this park you will find the lighthouse itself, the Municipal landmark, quite a few nice steep/flat trails with extremely dense foliage spread across its 185 acre land area. One of the premiere lighthouse stations that was manned in Canada was Point Atkinson, where Lighthouse Park gleaned its name from.
West Vancouver has an incredible school system , and also offers two private schools . There are 14 primary and elementary schools and 3 secondary schools in West Vancouver.
